Follow your teacher's guided instructions for setting up a Writing Prompt Google Doc


Writing Prompt #1 - 8/23/16
Welcome to the CCT Magnet program! Before we get started on our various units, we’d like for you to use your new Writing Prompt Google Doc to create a brief (5-7 complete and grammatically correct sentences) overview of your experience with technology thus far. Feel free to include the names of software you’ve encountered, projects you’ve completed, or anything else you’d like to share with us. This will allow us to get a handle on your current level of comfort with technology before proceeding with our curriculum.
  • Make sure to use a title and clearly indicate "Writing Prompt #1 - 8/23/16" on your Google Doc
  • Your Google Doc should be called; Per_Lastname_WritingPrompts (example: 5_Smith_WritingPrompts)
  • Remember, you will use this one document for all writing prompts for the entire school year. You only need to share it "correctly" once.

Writing Prompt #2 - 8/24/16
Think about what you're wearing today. Did you plan your outfit last night? Just throw it on this morning? What was the reasoning behind choosing today's outfit, and what do you think it says about you and your personality? Please answer thoughtfully and thoroughly!

Writing Prompt #3 - 9/8/16 - Now that you've learned a little about color theory, we want to test your knowledge!
1. What are "primary" colors?
2. How do you make "secondary" colors?
3. What is a real world example of "complementary" colors? (think sports teams)
4. What kinds of colors are in your house (or in your room)? Why do they seem to "work" (or not work)?
5. Why is it important to take color theory into consideration when creating a visual (logo, brochure, etc.)? (Write 3-4 sentences for this one)
6. What kind of color scheme are you using for your final desktop publishing assignment, and why?

Writing Prompt #4 - 9/13/15 - We have finished the "Desktop Publishing" unit. What did you think?
In a well written paragraph, address each of the following items:
-What did you think of the Desktop Publishing unit? Why?
-How did you like the InDesign software? Why?
-What was your favorite assignment (CCT Flyer, Calendar, TJ Brochure) and why?
-How could you see yourself using "Desktop Publishing" in the future?
-Do you believe that you used your time in the lab well? Were you focused and productive, did you distract your neighbors, etc?

Writing Prompt #5 - 9/13/15- Now that you've learned a little about graphics in Illustrator, we want to hear from you!
(Please write 1-2 complete sentences for each question.)

3. Give an example of when it would be better to use vector graphics.
4. Give an example of when it would be better to use bitmap graphics.

Writing Prompt #6 - 10/3/16 - Now that you're done with Illustrator, we'd like to hear from you! In 2-3 thorough paragraphs, reflect on your experience with this unit, specifically addressing these elements: What did you learn? What was your favorite assignment? Did you struggle with anything (directions, or using a specific tool)? Do you think you might use Illustrator in the future? If so, how? Compare and contrast InDesign and Illustrator.

Writing Prompt #7 - 11/1/16 - Please address this blog prompt in two to three thorough paragraphs:

-What was your favorite assignment (TJ, Hand/Cloud, Mountain of Fame, Apples, Flag Rock, Filmstrip, or #7(Creative) and why?
-How could you see yourself using Photoshop in the future?
-Do you believe that you used your time in the lab well? (were you focused and productive, did you distract your neighbors, etc?)
-Compare and contrast Illustrator and Photoshop

Writing Prompt #8 - 1/10/17 -Let's get started with programming!
1. What did you learn about programming (or the importance of having related skills) yesterday?
2. Do you have any experience using Adobe Flash software (which has been renamed Animate)? If not, great! Based on today's demo, what are you most excited to learn about?. If so, please explain what you have done with the software previously.
3. With one semester of experience under your belt, what are some of the things you are going to do moving forward that differ from what you did last semester in order to be more academically successful?
4. Briefly describe your best winter break memory.

Writing Prompt #9 - 2/15/17 - Believe it or not, we only have three units left this school year! Photography, Web, and Multimedia (audio and video).
