BLOG #1 - 8/27/13
Welcome to the CCT Magnet program! Before we get started on our various units, we’d like for you to use your newly set up blog to create and publish a brief (5-7 complete and grammatically correct sentences) overview of your experience with technology thus far. Feel free to include the names of software you’ve encountered, projects you’ve completed, or anything else you’d like to share with us. This will allow us to get a handle on your current level of comfort with technology before proceeding with our curriculum.

BLOG #2 - 9/9/13 - Now that you've learned a little about color theory, we want to test your knowledge!
1. What are "primary" colors?
2. What are "complimentary" colors?
3. What is a real world example of "complementary" colors? (think sports teams)
4. What kinds of colors are in your house (or in your room)? Why do they seem to "work" (or not work)?
5. Why is it important to take color theory into consideration when creating a visual (logo, brochure, etc.)? (Write 3-4 sentences for this one)
6. What kind of color scheme do you think you might use on your first desktop publishing assignment, and why?


BLOG #3 - 9/18/13 - We have finished the "Desktop Publishing" unit. What did you think?
In a well written 5 paragraph essay, address each of the following items:
-What did you think of the Desktop Publishing unit? Why?
-How did you like the InDesign software? Why?
-What was your favorite assignment (Flyer, Calendar, TJ Brochure) and why?
-How could you see yourself using "Desktop Publishing" in the future?
-Do you believe that you used your time in the lab well? Were you focused and productive, did you distract your neighbors, etc?

====Feel free to add in any other relevant information about the unit that you'd like to share.

BLOG #4 (Sept. 19, 2013) - Now that you've learned a little about graphics in Illustrator, we want to hear from you!
1. What makes up vector artwork?
2. What makes up bitmap graphics?
3. Give an example of when it would be better to use vector graphics.
4. Give an example of when it would be better to use bitmap graphics.
5. How can you see Illustrator being used in the real world?


BLOG #5 - 10/4/13 - Now that you're done with Illustrator, we'd like to hear from you! In 2-3 thorough paragraphs, reflect on your experience with this unit, specifically addressing these elements: What did you learn? What was your favorite assignment? Did you struggle with anything (directions, or using a specific tool)? Do you think you might use Illustrator in the future? If so, how? Compare and contrast InDesign and Illustrator.

BLOG #6 - 10/31/13 - Please address this blog prompt in two to three thorough paragraphs:
-What did you think of the Photoshop unit/how did you like the Photoshop software?
-What was your favorite assignment (TJ, Hand/Cloud, Mountain of Fame, Apples, Flag Rock, Filmstrip, or Free) and why?
-How could you see yourself using Photoshop in the future?
-Do you believe that you used your time in the lab well?
-Were you focused and productive, did you distract your neighbors, etc?
-Are you feeling the Halloween spirit? What are your plans after school today? (or what did you do on Halloween if you're making up this blog)

BLOG #7 - 1/10/14 -Let's get started with programming!
1. What did you learn about programming (or the importance of having related skills) this week?
2. Do you have any experience using either the Scratch or Flash software? If not, great! We will teach them to you. If so, please explain what you have done with the software previously.
3. With one semester of experience under your belt, what are some of the things you are going to do moving forward that differ from what you did last semester in order to be more academically successful?
4. Briefly describe your best 2013-2014 winter break memory.

BLOG #8 - 2/24/14
1. What did you think of the programming unit? Did you prefer Scratch or Flash? Why?
2. What was your favorite skill that you learned (animating, adding buttons and interactivity, etc.) and why? And what was your favorite lesson and why?
3. How could you see yourself using Scratch or Flash in the future?
4. What good habits (study habits, time management, etc.) do you believe you've developed so far during your freshman year? What do you believe needs work in the remaining 12 weeks of school? Is there anything we can help you with to ensure that you end the year on a successful note?


BLOG #9 - 4/22/14
In a well-written 5 paragraph essay, address everything that you've learned about photography composition. Be sure to mention/explain the 5 concepts we've covered: Rule of Thirds, Rule of Triangles, Leading Lines, Perspective, and Repetition. Please note: you will be graded according to how thorough, thoughtful, and grammatically correct your essay is!

Fall Warmup Blog:
(8.29) Think about what you're wearing today. Did you plan your outfit last night? Just throw it on this morning? What was the reasoning behind choosing today's outfit, and what do you think it says about you and your personality?
(9.3) Think about a memorable speech you've seen or heard (this can be a politician, musician, athlete, family member, or friend). Briefly describe the speaker, setting, and occasion. Do you believe it was an effective speech? If so, what made it so? If not, what was lacking?
